happened to me a few times this weekend as well. I was under the impression that the patch was there so following a match if a host signed off, instead of everyone being booted back to the room by themselves, it would keep everyone together and just assign a new host. I wasnt really expecting the patch to fix this on the fly in the middle of a match if host signs off. it would be cool if they could do this though. I didnt see it being too much of a problem this weekend though.
how can it have been a poor choice, if 720 wasnt even standard at that time???
games just fine because the developer added 1080 support to those games. play heavenly sword for example and you will get bumped down to 480p
i have a 16:9 crt HD TV that is a panasonic. Had awsome reviews on the AVS Forums. Love the set, it works and looks great with everything....besides the ps3. Every HD capable device scales to ones native hd res. That is, besides the PS3. The funny thing is the ps3 will upscale dvd's, ps1 and ps2 games and bluray movies will automatically play in 1080i even if you have the option of 720p on your set. I have a phatty panasonic hd tv. it is a crt which means it more then likely has a better picture then your lcd. That being said, it is a crt which means 1080i only. The tv is not crappy, its a great set only 2 years old. stop being a dumb a** n00b, that thinks he know more then he does
I have all three consoles of this gen. Bought 360 on release, wii on release and have just recently picked up a PS3 after the Warner Bros. choice to go Blu at CES. I love my 360, it is still my favorite console out of the 3. It is a very love hate relatioship though.
As of late, the hate is sarting to creep around more often then the love. There are three things that are really starting to make me push power on the PS3 more and more often.

these are def. things nintendo needs to do though in some form or fashion. I really hope nintendo has it priced right. The only games I see people paying to play antime soon is brawl and mario kart. I think nintendo fanatics will pay whatever to play online atleast at first release with these titles, everyone else might be a different story.

thats the point I can't. Many early hd tv's and hd crt tvs only output in 1080i, it does not support 720p...if a game is native 720p with no 1080 support, the games get bumped down to 480p...SONY screwed all early adopters of hd tvs by not supporting all hd resolutions. even many early sony hd tv's were this way. my tv is only 3 years old

January 08, it automatically updated the firmware to the latest revision 2.10 at the system set up the first time i turned the system on...stop acting like you know what your talking about. you are obviously the one who has no clue...thinking your playing all games in hd when you are not
How I wish you were right brother...but unfortunately SONY has swept this under the rug. The ps3 will upscale dvd's, ps1 and ps2 games, but will not upscale 720p native ps3 games. Why? I luckily haven't gone through nearly as many 360's as you, but I'm on my 3rd right now and my current system has been getting a ton of disc read errors with newer games mainly, which i find weird b/c my older games never seem to have a problem. Have mainly had issues with cd4, mass effect, and half life 2.
I also have the warranty through gamespot...which means no more warranties after my current system fails...
This has definately made my 360 playing habits be...
add features as you go via your continued updates...still id rather have lage free gaming and no downtime, which could happen if its not ready. ps3 owners cant even b*tch cause it would be a free service that was down and out, where live users can b*tch because they pay 50 bones a year
